Depending on the route you take to get in the air, we offer a wide range of lessons, to suit all budgets and tastes.
At GoFly we offer two types of pilot license training, the light aircraft pilots license (LAPL) and the private pilots license (PPL). If you’re not sure which is for you checkout our guide that details everything you need to learn to fly and covers both licenses in more depth.
Learning to fly can vary depending on the individual, but on average it can take from 18 months to two years.

Flying Experiences
Depending on the experience you opt for, will determine your flight location. This will be discussed beforehand with your instructor before the flight begins.
The gift of flight is a great experience especially as a gift. We offer multiple options ranging in price depending on the individual. All of our experiences have a downloadable e-voucher as part of the package. Alternatively you can have the voucher sent in the post for an additional cost.
Absolutely the flight can be extended depending on availability of your pilot and the aircraft. However, in the event that a Customer agrees during a flight to buy an upgrade to their current experience then such an agreement shall be binding. The customer shall be bound to pay in full for that upgrade upon landing.
Your voucher will be valid for a year. Due to our generous validity period and ease of booking we do not offer refunds or complimentary extensions; although 3 month extensions can be purchased for £30. Please remember that your flight may be cancelled due to weather, so you should allow plenty of time to rebook should this be the case with your flight. We strongly recommend that you book the voucher within 3 months of the purchase date.
General Questions
Located at Old Sarum Airfield, in Salisbury on the central South Coast. GoFly is easily accessible from the South West, the South East and Central England.
Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Southampton and the New Forest are just over 30 minutes away. Portsmouth and Bath are an hour and just 95 minutes from London, Bristol and Bridgwater.
Salisbury has a main line railway station with trains direct from London, Bristol and Oxford, the South Coast and the West of England. GoFly is just a short taxi journey (10 mins) from the station.
With an onsite cafe and free parking, the airfield has great facilities for your trip. The onsite café serves hot and cold snacks through-out the day and has a large grass area to sit, unwind and recount stories from your flying experience.
Our work horse is the Piper 28 Warrior built by Piper aircraft, considered by many as one of the best planes for new pilots to learn in.
When taking part in any flying experience with GoFly it is important to wear comfortable, but practical clothing. Please no open-toe or high-heeled shoes.
The GoFly Operations Team will be in touch as early as possible, however if there are delays due to weather conditions deteriorating, then the team will keep you fully informed of any developments. We suggest leaving the entire day free to complete your flight.
Whilst there is no age or weight limit, you may need to contact us in advance to check your suitability to jump if you have any concerns.
When you book your flight, you will be given an arrival time. This is the time your briefing with your instructor will begin. You should aim to be at the site 15 minutes prior to your briefing time to complete any necessary paperwork.
The airfield has an onsite cafe with an indoor and outdoor seating area located next to the runway. A great place for spectators to watch your flight. Grab a coffee and cake afterwards and share stories of your experience with your support crew!
Taking photos and videos is permitted, however you would need to consent from your instructor first whether they’re happy for you to do so.
