Many thanks to Mike Glen (OSFS Pilot’s Club Member and Airside Co-ordinator at Southampton Airport) for organising a superb visit to Southampton Airport.
The visit included an airspace briefing from NATS on the local airspace and procedures, visits to the Control Tower & Radar control room, the airport Operations and Fire Service control room, and also a few of our members were lucky enough to be given a ground tour of a Flybe Q400 aircraft – including the chance to try out the Captain’s seat!
All those on the visit had a very enjoyable and informative day, and would like to thank Mike and his colleagues at Southampton airport for making it happen.
